Double-digits

We took Ben to his Dr. appointment last Friday. Good news. Our little Ben has now made it to the double digits. He is a 10 pounder. Wow! We are so proud of our little chubby baby!

Daddy-Daughter Camp-Out

Last night Cal decided to have a camp-out with the girls in the yard. He set up the tent and took sleeping bags out there. They had a lot of fun but fell asleep instantly. It's exhausting having so much fun.

The next morning after folding up sleeping bags. Love the bed head!

Bath time help

When I gave Ben a bath on Wednesday, Cassidy jumped in the tub to help. She is such a helpful big sister. She feeds him, holds him, and now helps bathe him. In fact, when I went to wash his hair, she said "no, I do it". I had to explain to her that I need to do that part still so he doesn't get any soap in his eyes. She's such a naturally little mommy.

Island Park

We spent an extended weekend at the cabin in Island Park. Dave, Cal's cousin, was up there with his family for a family reunion so we went to the cabin so we could hang out with them. We went to Mesa Falls on Thursday where we met his cousins and then went to Warm River so everyone could swim. They had rented a huge cabin that slept Dave's whole family really well. Cal, Ben, and I went to our cabin and stayed there. On Friday we picked up our long, lost 4-wheelers from Island Park Adventures. We put a plow on Cal's machine and installed hand and thumb warmers on both of them. We hadn't had a chance to pick them up so they've been holding them for us. Brady, Lisa, Darrin, Kaylie, Rayce, and Darrin's friend Chris came up to the cabin late Friday night. On Saturday we floated the river in the kayaks and Lisa watched Ben. It was a gorgeous day. It was an absolutely perfect day to float. Since we had rare opportunity to have a babysitter we also went for a nice ride on the 4-wheelers. I've been going to the cabin for years and I've never enjoyed it as much as I do now that I have little Ben with us.
On Monday night Cal went on a ride by himself. He was cruising along a trail when he noticed great big tracks. He slowed down to get a better look when he noticed just how big they were. He also saw big claw marks on the end. He said he got a really eery feeling when the realization that it was from a grizzly bear set in. I'm sure he was within minutes of seeing it. Tonight when I was watching the news they had a segment on the fact that they've closed the Mack's Inn and Big Springs area in Island Park because there is a grizzly and her cub that is getting "too comfortable" with human areas. Scary! The cabin is right in that area.

We saw this momma moose with her baby while on our ride.
What a manly-man!

Cal got filthy after folllowing behind me.

We also took Ben on his first 4-wheeler ride. He loved it!

Coco loves riding the 4-wheeler and was very jealous that I didn't take him.

Just cruisin' around the yard at the cabin.

4th of July

The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love the weather, the food, family, and fireworks. Our morning started at about 6:00. Cal had to go put flags out for the scouts, and I had a little hungry man to feed. Then we went to the Iona Lion's club breakfast. It's so much fun to get back to your roots and see all your old friends. That evening we went to Lisa and Brady's and had some yummy dutch oven cooking. Lisa and Brady set up volleyball, and everyone visited. We had such a great time.

Happy 4th of July
